The new web site is in progress and we hope to have it up and running shortly. At last our first newsletter is almost ready to go to print after a few teething problems were experienced so I would like to say thank you to all CBPG 'friends' for being patient with us in our new venture.
The CBPG big forth coming event is our Bus Running Day at Penzance on Sunday 18 April 2010 when not only will vehicles from the CBPG be taking part but a number of 'guest visitors' will also be attending. The main attraction for me and I hope for many others from my generation will be the first visit to Cornwall since Western National had no further use for her, of Colin Billington's Bristol FLF 1969(468 FTT) in green Western National livery as worn by the vehicle when based at Camborne Depot in the 1960's. Also it is our aim to have running Bristol LD 1943(VDV 760) in original WN livery with Southern National half cab Bristol LWL 1613(LTA 772). There should be at least four Bristol VR's attending which will include the CBPG's GWR liveried 1003(VDV 141S) and for her first outing after nearly 3 years off the road, anniversary liveried 1141(AFJ 706T). We have almost got this bus ready for an MOT so the green livery that we were so used to in Cornwall should be very much in evidence.
Details for the day are still being finalised however we hope to run trips from Penzance to St Ives, Hayle, Marazion/Perranuthnoe, Paul/Sheffield and out to Sennen Cove. We would very much appreciate 'friends' involvement with marshalling and being a 'buddy' for some of our visiting drivers. Watch this space for further news.
N.B. Whilst every effort will be made by the CBPG to use the vehicles listed, this may be subject to change at the last minute.
