The evenings are closing in and the 2011 rally scene is drawing to a close and September is almost gone. We have four vehicles on the road, those being LeylandLeyland Bus was a British bus manufacturer. It emerged from the Rover Group (formerly British Leyland) as a management buyout of the bus business. It was subsequently acquired by Volvo Buses in 1988 and the name finally disappeared in 1993 OlympianLeyland Olympian was a double-decker bus built by British Leyland/Leyland Bus in the United Kingdom from 1980 to 1993. 34754(A754 VAF), Bristol LHBristol Commercial Vehicles Light Horizontal engined 716(MUO 328F), Mercedes VarioMercedes-Benz Vario (model designation W670) is a heavy van manufactured by Mercedes-Benz 52529(S529 RWP) and Bristol VRBristol VR was Bristol's rear-engined bus chassis, designed as a competitor to the Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline. 1003(VDV 141S). Due to work commitments, and a lack of a suitable working space, we have been unable to further some of the jobs we wanted to attempt this year but this doesn't mean we are not still kean to move on however, suitable storage in Cornwall is still required.

Our Bristol VR 1141(AFJ 706T) is now a priority for re-painting and returning to the road and 1003 is in need of some chassis attention before next spring and this is also another priority job. We recently started and moved our Bristol VR 38873(LFJ 873W) after a long period of storage in Devon but unfortunately, her exhaust was so corroded that it 'fell off'. Ha!, still, we think she ought to be readied for an MOT this October so watch this space.

We have just attended the 4th 7' 6" Bus Running Day at Kingsbridge on Saturday 17 September 2011 where we had our Bristol LH 716, Bristol VR 1003 and our Vario 52529 opperating services out of Kingsbridge during the day(see pictures in the Gallery). Hundreds of people turned out for this 'step back in time' which was enjoyed by enthusiasts, locals and even the late summer tourists.

We will keep you posted on any more developments next month. Don't forget the Winkleigh event and the Warminster Running Day.
