As Christmas approaches and 2010 draws to an end, I thought an update of the site was more than overdue. We have not got a lot to report as we have all been rather busy and the weather in west Cornwall has not been what I would call 'suitable' for bus preservation work. MOT's for our fleet is earmarked for the new year with LeylandLeyland Bus was a British bus manufacturer. It emerged from the Rover Group (formerly British Leyland) as a management buyout of the bus business. It was subsequently acquired by Volvo Buses in 1988 and the name finally disappeared in 1993 OlympianLeyland Olympian was a double-decker bus built by British Leyland/Leyland Bus in the United Kingdom from 1980 to 1993. 34754(A754 VAF) first up. A re-paint for her is still our aim this winter/spring. We really want to get Bristol VRBristol VR was Bristol's rear-engined bus chassis, designed as a competitor to the Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline. 1141(AFJ 706T) on the road in 2011 and some help from a 'friend' in Devon has been promised to enable us to achieve this mission. At the moment, only our Bristol VR 1003(VDV 141S) and Mercedes VarioMercedes-Benz Vario (model designation W670) is a heavy van manufactured by Mercedes-Benz 52529(S529 RWP) have MOT's pending the arrival of some warmer weather!

I can confirm that our Running Day in 2011 will be held on Sunday 17 April and should be based at Penzance. I will keep you posted on this as interest from around the country is already being shown, in particular from the owner of Bristol VR 1106(SFJ 106R) who is willing to bring 'her home' for the event.

Previously I mentioned a new vehicle addition that did not work out for us. I'm afraid that the 'organisation' I was dealing with were not being totally honest with me at the time and did not divulge that another 'player' had a vested interest in the vehicle which meant we lost out. That's life as they say however, we have been able to secure another addition, thanks to First Devon & Cornwall, which I hope to tell you about in the New Year.

As before, we still require covered storage for our vehicles in Cornwall so if you can help, please let us know asap. We are always looking to 'save' more vehicles from the scrap heap so your help would be appreciated.

It only remains for me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous bus and coach preservation New Year!
