There is not a lot to report for November and I'm still waiting for some responce to the following request.
To all bus enthusiasts out there, we require additional suitable farm buildings or sheds with good road access so that the CBPSCornwall Bus Preservation Society - formed by a group of bus and coach enthusiasts who are involved in maintaining, restoring and preserving a number of buses which saw operational service in Cornwall that have been bought, donated or even loaned to members of the group can work all year round on our fleet and to be able to consider acquiring more vehicles for preservation. Please ask around and give us a call.
We are working on Bristol VRBristol VR was Bristol's rear-engined bus chassis, designed as a competitor to the Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline. 1141(AFJ 706T) and hope to have her repainted before the spring of 2012 and back on the road. We have moved Bristol VR 1226/38873(LFJ 873W) to assess her failed exhaust system and to check the chassis and her general condition underneath. We aim to have her back on the road in 2012 remaining in First Group livery. The lack of suitable working conditions in Cornwall is really hampering any work on 1147/38749(AFJ 749T) which is still stored with nearly all the upper deck seating in Autumn Gold. A change of livery to something 'worn' earlier is required. Any ideas or preferences?
Renewal of membership of the CBPS is due in January 2012 but if you have not already joined us, why not join us now and have '13 months for the price of 12!' Now there's an offer that must be tempting!
As usual, I will keep updating this space with any developments.
