Firstly, welcome to all enthusiasts to our new site which we think is a great improvement on our first effort and has much more to offer everyone. The first site was of our own making which got us started and enabled followers of bus and coach transport in Cornwall to know about us and our aims. This new site has been developed for us by our good friend Carol who has listened to our moans about the first site regarding operational difficulties and its lack of potential and taken on board the ideas and aspirations we had for the replacement and produced this excellent site. Thank you to Carol and Russell, who host our site and for all their hard work. We still have a few 'teething problems' but we are sure these can be sorted soon.
In case you haven't noticed, we are now the Cornwall Bus Preservation SocietyCornwall Bus Preservation Society - formed by a group of bus and coach enthusiasts who are involved in maintaining, restoring and preserving a number of buses which saw operational service in Cornwall that have been bought, donated or even loaned to members of the group (CBPS). The change of name went live last Thursday 15 July 2010 with the launch of this new site following discussions we had with staff at Companies House regarding our name and the word 'Group'. We took their advice and instigated the change though you will still see reference to the old name in the articles preceding this date.
As you can see, the seven vehicles we care for are now featured in 'thumb nail' pictures on the site and gradually more photographs will be added. Indeed, we would like you to send us your photographs of our vehicles at any events, old or new plus any of vehicles from a similar back ground that you think we would possibly feature.
We will be attending the Western National Bus Preservation Group's Rally at Plymouth Hoe on 25th July 2010 where we hope to have Bristol LHBristol Commercial Vehicles Light Horizontal engined 716(MUO 328F), Bristol VRBristol VR was Bristol's rear-engined bus chassis, designed as a competitor to the Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline. 1003(VDV 141S), and Mercedes VarioMercedes-Benz Vario (model designation W670) is a heavy van manufactured by Mercedes-Benz 52529(S529 RWP) present. This promises to be a very good day with lots of 'free' rides around the City on a number of different buses so don't miss out on this one. Also look out for us in west Cornwall at the St Buryan Rally on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August where we hope to have 716 and 1003 on site.
