Firstly I must appologise to all for the delay in updating the site which has been due to a spell of poor health and 'lots going on'. Anyway, to all those who attended our 'Running Day' at Penzance, I would like to say 'a big thank you' on behalf of the CBPG and the Thames Valley & Great Western Trust for making the day an 'absolute cracker'. Yes we were very fortunate with the weather and also we were very lucky to have the use of the Bus Station as our main site so 'a big thank you to First Devon & Cornwall' for allowing this to happen. We had printed what we thought would be enough programmes for the day only to run out by mid-morning so we are sorry if you missed out on your souvenir but it is very difficult to gauge their popularity. I am pleased to say that all the vehicles that took part performed well and either successfully returned home that night or the following morning. Thank you to all the owners, custodians or drivers for helping to make such a good day. The CBPG were very pleased with the performance of our vehicles, Bristol LHBristol Commercial Vehicles Light Horizontal engined 716(MUO 328F), Bristol VRBristol VR was Bristol's rear-engined bus chassis, designed as a competitor to the Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline. 1003(VDV 141S), LeylandLeyland Bus was a British bus manufacturer. We have received requests to make it an 'annual' event so we will see what can be done.
Following the 'Running Day', I drove 1003(VDV 141S) to South Devon in preparation for her MOT. Work will now re-commence on Bristol VR 1141(AFJ 706T) to get an MOT sorted in the near future, while for the time being, sister vehicles 1147/38749(AFJ 749T) and 1226/38873(LFJ 873W) will remain stored and de-licenced. Our OlympianModels of double decker bus built by Leyland and Volvo: * Leyland Olympian * Volvo Olympian * Volvo Olympian (low-floor), also known as Volvo B9TL and Vario are both taxed and tested and will be on the roads during the summer. Work has resumed on the new web site which will be a lot better for all of us and will accommodate photographs in a much easier way. Speaking of which, please email us with any 'action shots' of the Running Day you wish to share with us and we will try to include them on the new site.
