April 2010 news with proposed vehicle entries and routes to be operated on 'Running Day' - Sunday 18 April 2010

The good news for all is that we have 12 vehicles promised for our 'Running Day' on Sunday 18 April 2010 running over 8 routes out of Penzance Bus Station. The bit of disappointing news as far as the CBPG is concerned is that we have been unable to get our Bristol VRBristol VR was Bristol's rear-engined bus chassis, designed as a competitor to the Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline. 1141(AFJ 706T) through an MOT in time for the event as we had hoped. However, we are determined to get our Bristol LHBristol Commercial Vehicles Light Horizontal engined 716(MUO 328F) 'back home' to Penzance for the event. Vehicles confirmed entered are: Bristol FLF 1969(468 FTT), Bristol LD 1943(VDV 760), Bristol VR's 1056(OTA 290G), 1003(VDV 141S), 1121(VDV 121S), 1157(AFJ 764T), 1200(LFJ 844W), LeylandLeyland Bus was a British bus manufacturer. It emerged from the Rover Group (formerly British Leyland) as a management buyout of the bus business. It was subsequently acquired by Volvo Buses in 1988 and the name finally disappeared in 1993 OlympianLeyland Olympian was a double-decker bus built by British Leyland/Leyland Bus in the United Kingdom from 1980 to 1993. 34754(A754 VAF), Bristol LWL 1613(LTA 772), Bristol MW 2902, Bristol SUL 420(270 KTA), Bristol LH 716(MUO 328F) and Bristol LHS's 1254(VOD 124K) and 1560(FDV 790V).

The event kicks off at 10.00 hours with 2 vehicles departing from the bus station every 15 minutes. Service 1 to Lands End, SErvice 5 to Paul/Sheffield, Service 7 to Perranuthnoe, Service 10/10B to St Just, Service 10A to Madron, Service 17 to St Ives, Service 18 to Loggans Mill, Hayle and Service 20 Praa Sands. These routes will be operated hourly with Services 17 and 18 interchangeable at the St Erth stop. The last trip is due back to Penzance just after 17.00 hours.
