As we drift closer towards winter 2011, you must make a note for 2012 to remind yourself and fellow enthusiasts that - 'I must not miss the Penzance and Kingsbridge Running Days next year as they are getting better and better!' Well, I am slightly biased as I am lucky enough to be involved with both events but I really do think these two running days are a bit special and offer so much for us enthusiasts. We increased the number of vehicles and new routes were added this year at Penzance which saw our passenger numbers increase and the event was held in near perfect weather yet again. Easter moves around again next year but make a note of Sunday 15 April 2012 - 5th Penzance VR Revival & Vintage Bus Running Day. We aim to top this years event so keep checking 'the site' for news. I think this years running day at Kingsbridge was the best yet with such a wide variety of vehicles. Some were 7' 6" wide which were just able to ease down the minor Devon roads (that were only 7' 8" wide!) while the full sized Bristol FLF's and VR's managed to negotiate all other routes with all of 6" to spare - on occasions! Again, Colin and Mel managed to add more routes this year and propose to 'top up' again next year. The date to remember is: Saturday 15 September 2012 - 5th Kingsbridge 7' 6" Vintage Bus Running Day. We look forward to seeing you all next year. In the mean time, if you can get yourself along to Warminster on Sunday 9 October 2011 where another classic bus running day returns.
